Ngo Dinh Nhu
He was assassinated, along with his brother, during the 1963 coup. Nhu's wife, Madame Ngo Dinh Nhu or "Madame Nhu", was also influential on government policy and, since her brother-in-law leader was unmarried, was regarded as the "First Lady" of Vietnam.
